The Vegas Golden Knights went over board on their spending and now find themselves up against the salary cap.
In an effort to free up some cap space, they've decided to move on from one forward who hasn't even played a game yet.
Nikita Gusev has found himself on the trade block and is garnering quite a bit of interest.
The cost to land Gusev has been revealed and it's arguably a bit much considering he's never played a game in the NHL before.
According to Jesse Granger of The Athletic, the cost to land Gusev is "a second-round pick, with a later pick or lower-tier prospect attached."
The 27 year old is currently a restricted free agent who registered 82 points in 62 games last year for St. Petersburg SKA and 62 points in 54 games the year.
Do you see a team paying up to land the former KHLer?
