The Colorado Avalanche missed out on the Jack Eichel sweepstakes and are still working to land a top six forward.

It was revealed that Samuel Girard was the main trade chip in the Avs' Eichel proposal and the team isn't done dangling him.

According to various reports the Avs and general manager Joe Sakic are now looking to move Girard to any team that can provide a top six forward in return.

Girard is a promising young defenseman who has become expendable thanks to the play of Bowen Byram.

The Avs are willing to give up on Girard's high offensive upside because they were unhappy with his performance during the playoffs last year defensively and feel his $5million AAV could be used elsewhere.

Would you be willing to give up a top six forward for the 23 year old defenseman?
