There weren't many games last night in the NHL, but one of them was full of action.
The league leading Washington Capitals defeated the Anaheim Ducks by a score of 5-2.
While the game was full of action, it was also full of dirty play and some scuffles and one player took it too far.
With a melee going on, Ducks defenseman Erik Gudbranson threw a late punch at Washington's Garnet Hathaway. Instead of trying to get at Gudbranson with a punch or anything else, Hathaway spit a huge loogie at Gudbranson's face.
Hathaway received a match penalty and we wouldn't be surprised if he receives more from the Department of Player Safety.
