The Calgary Flames are in the middle of a tight playoff race in the Western Conference. They currently have 78 points which is two points out of both third place in the Pacific Division and the second wild card spot.
The Flames could be in a much better place right now, but they have struggled of late going 4-6-2 over their last 12 games. After back-to-to back wins over the Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators, the Flames laid an egg on Sunday night, losing 5-2 to the New York Islanders to snap their eight-game losing streak.
Head coach Glen Gulutzan laid into his team during Monday’s morning skate including dropping over 20 F-bombs in about a minute. This isn’t the first time Gulutzan has let his anger get the best of him. Back in early January, cameras caught Gulutzan launching his stick into the stands during practice. The Flames responded with two straight wins after that incident.
Do you think the Calgary Flames will find a way into the Stanley Cup playoffs?
